  excellent if you want to spend the money

  I had to write a review because I was shocked that this cleanser had such a low rating. First, yes, Dermalogica is expensive. (Although it doesn't have to be.) Second of all, I use their products based on what was recommended to me by Dermalogical facialists at their store, rather than picking whatever I like. This is not a harsh cleanser that will make your face sting. It's pleasant smelling and I actually do find it to be effective. Dermalogica actually recommends washing your face twice in a row with this product. I know that might sound like hogwash to get you to use more... but supposedly the first time gets stickier makeup off and the second time gets the remainder. I take the middle ground and use it three times a day-- once at morning, night, and after the gym. Why am I willing to pay way more for Dermalogica rather than going to the local CVS when I'm an incredibly poor graduate student??   Great product, but not the greatest for oily/acneic skin

  I've been a devoute Dermalogica user for years and held a Dermalogica certification at one point. So I should have known better- although it says for all skin types, this really isn't the best if you have mostly oily skin. It feels great at first, but the lathery composition of the face wash strips the oils which results in a little oil overproduction. My skin had cleared up after using Dermal Clay for so long, I thought I was in the clear. But after about 3 weeks of using this, I started breaking out badly again. For normal skin types, this is an excellent, lightweight cleanser.   Awesome cleanser!

  For years I had no real skin issues, but lately it seemed no matter what I tried, it wasn't working. Everything was irritating my face, I was breaking out more, and my skin was oilier. I happened upon Dermalogica while shopping for shampoo, lucky for me. I ordered this cleanser, and I loved it immediately. It's light, it smells great, my latest breakouts have clearing up without any spot treatments, and my skin feels great after cleaning, instead of dry or irritated.   Gently cleans your skin leaving it clear and calm!

  I have bad skin. I know, everyone says that... but I mean it. From age 14 to 22 I had acne and now (at age 28) I still battle pimples, large pores, and oily skin. Plus, I'm allergic to some random synthetic stuff (mostly in shampoos and conditioners) and allergic reactions have made my skin super sensitized. I'd nearly given up on anything that promised to reduce redness AND keep my skin clear. That was until I stumbled upon the UltraCalming line. I honestly believe it will work for most people, especially as I've tried nearly every "adult acne" product at Sephora not to mention the regular brands like Aveeno, Clearasil, and Clean & Clear. If this sounds like you, but you still were having issues (either your skin was breaking out or really irritated), then I'd definitely recommend Dermalogica's UltraCalming line.This cleanser works great, though seems weird at first due to not mixing it with water so that it seems maybe a little greasy.   Great product

  I have acne due to sensitive skin--not oily skin, like most people. I've tried lots of different cleansers and 90% of them cause me to break-out. Since starting the Ultracalming cleanser 18 months ago, my break-outs have stopped almost entirely. I'm sold on this product, though I had to create a space in my budget for it.This is a non-foaming cream cleanser, and at first I doubted if was actually cleaning my skin; but after 3 weeks, I couldn't find any black dots on my nose or chin.I use this along with the Daily Microexfoliant, the regular toner (not the soothing protection toner), and the Active Moist moisturizer.   Saftey Seal was removed from Product

  The safety seal wasn't on the bottle and Dermalogica products come with the seal. I finally found the seal that someone had placed under the bottle?? I contacted the vendor and they told me that this is how they receive the product from the company. Dermalogica would never send a product without the safety seal. The seal ensures that no one has tampered with the product. Now I'm unsure if I should trust this clearly previously opened bottle or send it back.   No seal on product!

  I just received my bottle and it was the same thing. There was no safety seal!! I have ordered various Dermalogica products from the store or from other websites and they all came in either sealed boxes or had the dermalogica tape seal. This one had a piece of packaging tape on the top. I opened the bottle - it was not full - maybe it leaked out? It looks used and smells funny. I have used this special cleaning gel for 10 years. I hope they give a full refund. I have never had a bad experience from Amazon orders.   Silky Smooth Face

  After an esthetician at Glen Ivy Spa in Corona, CA used this on me during a facial I had, I fell in love immediately. I had been searching for a great exfoliant that I could use to help me eliminate the dead skin on my face and the blackheads on the sides of my nose. As she explained it, the papain is a natural ingredient that removes the dead skin and therefore is much safer than exfoliant scrubs. Not only is it safer than scrubs, but it is safe and gentle enough for everyday use. After I came out of the facial, I noticed my blackheads were gone and my face was silky smooth once again. She said that blackheads formed because dead skin would be lodged into pores and as more and more dead skin continues to block the pores, they turn black and become the enemy, blackheads. By using this powder when mixed with water becomes a cream, it will help prevent the reoccurence of blackheads and your skin feels smooth again too.   I use this every morning after I cleanse and before I use toner. It is after all called DAILY Microfoliant. You really only need a small amount. I like to wash my face in the shower, so it presents a small problem. Mostly because its a powder and you cant get it the bottle near water. However, I have found it reasonably easy to use and it works great. My skin looks and feels great.Its softer, more smooth and I have less breakouts. Its gentle enough for my combination skin.   I chose this particular vendor of Dermatologica because I was supposed to get precleanse and cleansing cloth. I didn't get them. The bottle did not have the Dermatologica seal, so I'm suspicious that it's just someone "cleverly" repackaging.   I have Normal/Combinatio/Sensitive skin - a triple challenge; so it is hard to find a cleanser that works well on my whole face.   I have used dermalogica for years and love the product, but do not buy from this seller! I paid for this product two months ago and still have yet to receive it! I sent a message a couple of weeks ago stating that it must have been sent to the wrong address and no follow-up!   This is a very mild and non-irritating facial cleanser that helps calm any skin irritation or sensitivity. It is a creamy cleanser similar that leaves your skin feeling healthy. I recommend using an eye makeup remover prior to using this product as it is not very good at removing eye make up.
