  I have been using Dermalogica Preclenase for a few years now and find it an important step in my facial care, especially when I wear makeup. Before Precleanse, I would wash my face and use toner after; there were always traces of makeup on the cotton. So I would wash and tone again. I tried other makeup removers but didn't like them. Enter Dermalogica Precleanse. First, a little goes a long way. I put about a dime sized amount in my palm, rub in my hands, and rub on my face - eyes, lips - all over. Next, I wet my hands, and rub all over the oil which completely emulsifies, taking with it all makeup and oil, even waterproof mascara and eyeliner. Finally, I splash with water, one pump of my facial cleanser, wash, rinse, and tone (completely clean cotton no matter how much or what type of makeup I've worn. It even works with stage makeup! While this product may seem a little pricey to some, Precleanse is well worth the cost.   Will never use anything else again!

  Have to say, I'm usually very skeptical of skincare products and their claims. Also, the concept of a "pre-cleanse" sounded ridiculous to me, as I thought, "Why would I want to add another product to my regimen?" I was first given samples of it from the Dermalogica store by a salesgirl that noticed how dry and flaky my winter skin was.Well, after a few days of pre-cleanse (I've been using it for 6 months now), I must say I LOVE this product. The oil is so gentle, soothing, and effective- and completely removes ALL traces of make-up without harsh exfoliation or scrubbing. Other cleansers still left residue on my face (which if you scrub with a washcloth you will see), left my already dry skin drier and tighter.Pre-cleanse is amazing because it's an oil that completely dissolves everything, but then washes off clean when you add water without leaving your face oily at all.   PreCleanse

  This is the only Dermalogica product I use. And might I say I love it! This product is the first step in Demalogicas "two step" Cleansing process. It helps remove all your make-up and excess dirt. It is real greasy almost like baby oil so I was hesitant to use it at first. But it is fabulous at removing make-up and even mascara. I wouldn't do without it. 5/5 Carla J.   I'm sold.

  My skin used to be perfect; then I turned 18 and all hell broke loose. For the past 9 years, I've been struggling with acne and extreme oiliness (especially in my T-zone) and haven't been able to find anything to help calm my skin, until now. I've been using PreCleanse twice a day for a few days now, and my skin has already improved dramatically. No exaggeration, the pores around my nose and mouth used to be visibly filled with white crap...I used to wake up everyday with at least 2 new whiteheads.   Best thing you can use for oily skin

  I have extremely oily skin, and I have used a variety of cleansers that have been too harsh or too mild that it either leaves my face feeling either not clean enough or too dry. I have never had a favorite and I jump around all the time from one cleanser to the next on a never ending search for a good product. I discovered this product when i went to a high end salon to get a facial. I have never used a product that agreed so much with my facial skin. It has ingredients that gives your face a cool and tingly sensation. Not an uncomfortable burning sensation like some other products. When you are done with the day, your face is 2 or 3 times less oilier than usual. I don't know if it is this product or Dermalogica's Anti Bac Wash, but the big pores on my nose have decreased significantly. I have always had big pores on my nose and it is a shock for me to see them so small. This product is great for anyone with oily skin.   Love Dermalogica!

  I'm a 20-something black woman who had acne since a pre-teen. I've used Proactiv, Clean and Clear, Obagi, Mary Kay's acne line, etc. NOTHING ever eliminated or reduced the acne. For the last 6 years, I've been getting facials including extractions. My aesthetician only uses Dermalogica and I use it at home. If you were to see me, you'd never know I had acne. The products do seem expensive but a little goes a long way. I had an 8oz bottle of Dermal Clay Cleanser that lasted over a year... and I wash my face in the morning and at night! I upgraded to the 16.9 oz and cant wait to see how long it lasts.   Great for dry skin!

  My skin is so dry but I also have blackheads on my nose- this takes care of both! My skin glowed after just one use and it smells amazing. I feel like I'm getting a spa treatment every day.   excellent if you want to spend the money

  I had to write a review because I was shocked that this cleanser had such a low rating. First, yes, Dermalogica is expensive. (Although it doesn't have to be.) Second of all, I use their products based on what was recommended to me by Dermalogical facialists at their store, rather than picking whatever I like. This is not a harsh cleanser that will make your face sting. It's pleasant smelling and I actually do find it to be effective. Dermalogica actually recommends washing your face twice in a row with this product. I know that might sound like hogwash to get you to use more... but supposedly the first time gets stickier makeup off and the second time gets the remainder. I take the middle ground and use it three times a day-- once at morning, night, and after the gym. Why am I willing to pay way more for Dermalogica rather than going to the local CVS when I'm an incredibly poor graduate student??   For years I had no real skin issues, but lately it seemed no matter what I tried, it wasn't working. Everything was irritating my face, I was breaking out more, and my skin was oilier. I happened upon Dermalogica while shopping for shampoo, lucky for me. I ordered this cleanser, and I loved it immediately.
