  Proactiv has worked for me

  When I was younger I used more intense medications (prescription mostly) and they would make my skin beat red and turn it so dry and flaky that it wasn't even worth it in the end. Proactive has never had this type of effect on me and I consider myself to have very sensitive skin. Since I have such sensitive skin, my skin tends to have a bit of redness in general, but I also take Inositol powder which makes it appear more 'pink' and bright than anything else. Proactiv makes my skin very smooth and even toned and I NEVER have a breakout while using Proactiv along with the inositol.If you have sensitive skin, I also highly recommend Inositol powder, . It's something I discovered a couple years ago, works from the inside as the procativ attacks the acne from the surface.   Works well but....

  Acne is complicated and varies from person to person.While this product may not work for some, it worked for me.I've had acne since I was 16 (I am now 22) and I tried Proactiv when I was 19 on and off. Sometimes, it would work, sometimes my acne is very stubborn and Proactiv wasn't very effective. BUT it worked the majority of the time, so it is worth buying and trying.The only con is that it makes my skin a little sensitive and doesn't keep acne off.Recently, I am into more natural products such as and I found it to be just as effective without the added sensitivity...and because it is all organic and natural, I can use it everyday safely to keep the acne from coming back.   Cleared acne in 10 days

  I had always wanted to give Proactive a try. There seems to be a lot of hype surrounding this product so I figured I'd give it a shot. I had a problem with acne on and off for years. I thought it would be a thing of the past when I became an adult but I guess not. I read reviews of several people who saw outstanding results when they combined the Proactiv system with an acne pill called Clearzine. So I decided to do the same. I did not expect this stuff to work so well in a month's time, much less the 10 days it took to completely wipe out my acne. I am so impressed with this combo and my face hasn't looked this clear in years. If you want your skin clear fast, these two seem to be a winning combination. I would highly recommend them.   Worth the price

  My skin is acne prone and I have tried many things in the past to make it clear up, but nothing has worked. At first Proactiv was a little irritating and drying for me. Word of advice, don't get it near your eyes because the cleanser does sting. The 3 step worked right away for me, within a couple weeks my skin started getting clear and brighter. Occasionally I have minor breakouts, but nothing compared to before starting this kit. It's been a year now and I've never used any of the other products in the line, except this 3 piece kit and another moisturizer. The kit alone dries out my skin, so I use a separate moisturizer and SPF. The price is a little high for this kit, but here on Amazon I compared to the Proactiv site and another site who also sell these products and this price here is most competitive. I like being able to purchase what I need instead of an entire kit at one time. A friend recommended Proactiv to me.   Very very good product when it comes to eliminating pimples, blemishes and blackheads. It works very well.   Calming and Clearing

  I've used this mask for years. When I was younger (teens and early twenties) I had oily acne prone skin and used the entire Proactiv system. Now that I'm 30 and my skin has dried out, I use this mask once, or twice a week to clear my pores and to calm inflamed pimples. It works best after a shower when skin is soft and the "gunk," in your Tzone is soft, too. I apply, hang out for twenty or thity minutes and rinse with warm water, or exfoliate with a warm wash cloth. Results are not permanent, but for a few days at least, bye bye blackheads.   I was once a Proactiv user and eventhough my skin is oily it became very dry. I quit using Proactiv and then realized I needed to use a spot treatment. I tried everything but it either left me looking blotchy or it overdried my skin. I ordered just this refining mask and use everytime I feel something coming on. It works over night!   So I've used tons of acne products, and when I say tons I mean pretty much everything that's available in stores, and then several prescription products. I tried Proactiv, and it really only succeeded in drying my skin out and actually making my acne even worse. The only product in the entire Proactiv system that I actually saw good results with is this refining mask.I don't use the mask on my entire face, I just use it as an overnight spot treatment. I use a cotton swab to just dab a little bit on the surface of any pimples I have on my face, I let it dry, and I go to sleep with it on.   I used proactive for a long time and tried to give it up for something cheaper. I tried evcerything from beauty shop brands to Olay and nothing worked as good. I am 31 with the skin of a 15 year old without this stuff.   Best zip zapper I've found

  I've tried the Proactiv products before and have found them to work, but not to be as great as the informacials make it appear. I ordered this product for the first time recently and am amazed at how great it works. The day I received the product, I felt a deep and under the skin zip growing on my cheek. I applied this product three times and the zip rapidly dried up and was almost gone within 24 hours. It dries up acne better than any other product I've tried, even prescription strength. Great for spot treating those deep and troublesome pimples that are hard to get rid of. With just the Proactiv Skincare System alone, she was still having some hot-spots; however, after using the Blemish Treatment (consistently), she has very few problem areas. She is on her 3rd tube, and we are going to order 2 boxes next time. I love this product because its main ingredient is glycolic acid, an AHA (Alpha hydroxy acid), which exfoliates the top layer of your skin gradually and helps unclog your pores, thus preventing acne break outs. I've used it for years, once daily, usually before bedtime, and only sometimes do I follow it with a little benzoyl peroxide if I have a stubborn break out and my skin clears up fast!   maybe not necessary

  I have been using proactiv for 10 years. Nowadays I use the cleanser twice a day and follow with the treatment from [...](also contains benzoyl peroxide, like the proactiv lotion). My sister also uses proactiv, and we decided together that the toner really doesn't make much of a difference. The cleanser works great, but I haven't used the toner in years, and I can't imagine that it really matters. So I agree with those who say you can use the system but eliminate the toner step. The cleanser works great, but I haven't used the toner in years, and I can't imagine that it really matters. So I agree with those who say you can use the system but eliminate the toner step.   I never knew toner was so important

  My complexion has never looked better. I can say today that I really like the skin on my face. I haven't said that probably ever. I tried a few other toners before this one and I like this the best. My complexion cleared up over a few weeks and I like the way my face feels all the time now. It doesn't dry me out or leave my face too shiny. I also use the Proactive oil free moisturizer and this or the combo of those two things has left my face better than it has been since 5th grade (read: pre-puberty). I use to think Proactiv was all just a big marketing scam. After seeing the reviews here on Amazon I am really beginning to think it is also just as much about the product and it is actually better than anything else.   If you talk to any dermatologist worth his or her salt, they'll tell you there's no point in washing with a benzoyl peroxide cleanser, because when you rinse it off, you rinse off the expensive medicine too! Why bother with the whole Proactiv system; it's absurdly overpriced. That said, their lotion is pretty much irreplaceable, since it has the medication in a lotion form, which is exceedingly rare.Use Purpose or Cetaphil cleanser with Proactiv's lotion AT NIGHT. In the morning, use the same cleanser, but you'll need to use a moisturizer/sunscreen combo to prevent skin cancer, so you cannot use this stuff! Try Aveeno Daily Moisturizer spf 30 or Neutrogena Healthy Defense spf 30 or 45.   Expensive, but effective

  Proactiv is the only product that has ever cleared my skin, and I think the lotion is the most important component of the "system". (I only use the cleanser and lotion.) It's gentle enough to use all over your face on a daily basis without being overly drying.   Excellent

  I bought the Proactiv Repairing Lotion to replace another product I'd been using for a long time with poor results. The Proactiv lotion blew me away! It works better than I could have expected. A couple of things to note about it: 1. You might not need to use it every day. I put it on my forehead every night, but I use it more like an on the spot treatment for the rest of my face. I found that if I used it like a mask every night, within three days my skin was dried out and flaking off. I've had excellent results using it as described above. 2. The lotion has a bleaching effect on fabric. When you're done applying it, wash your hands with soap. Do not just wipe your hands off on a towel or it'll take the color out of it. Also, be mindful of the pillow case you use if you put it on at night. Once the Proactiv dries it's pretty stable, but I still wouldn't rest my head on a prized pillow case while using it. 5/5 S.   Doesn't work for moderate adult acne

  I tried this product out of desperation. I'm in my late 20's and have had moderate acne since I was a teen and nothing ever really works long term. I really wanted to give this a treatment a solid chance so I made sure I followed the directions exactly. I washed my face twice a day with step one and followed it with step two each time. During the day I would use their super light moisturizer and did the mask 3 times each week (putting it on all over my face and letting it set for 20 minutes before rinsing). I used the product precisely for two weeks and didn't have very good results. My small bumps that didn't come to a head were minimized so I could see this working for someone with mild acne. I still continued to get new white heads and large red pimples the entire time. My skin was very sensitive during this time but I expected it to be, but hoped it would ease up over time, it didn't.I also tried using the refining mask as spot treatment as many other people... 2/5 Sarah J.   Proactiv-Don't waste your $Money

  I bought this product at a booth in our local mall for my 12 year old daughter. She was having some seriousbreakouts and having tried SO- many things for my own skin, I was skeptical of what the ads touted but gave it a try. I made sure she used it as directed with little to no results after a couple of weeks. She was given L'OREAL 360 cleanser by a friend and the improvement is amazing!! Imagine that....a over the counter product did a much better job without the big COSTS, or several steps. I am fortunate that we only bought 1 and were NOT set up on an automatic system for re-order. That would have been a hassle NOT worth having. It is so- sad that these ads go to such a great lengths and appeals for products that just don't cut it!   Better off with anything else!

  I don't know what is worse, being left on hold for about half an hour last week by their customer support hotline and eventually giving up! Or having the line answer by some incompetent yo-yo giving you the third degree ("Why did you order it if you were going to decide to return it!")
