  In defense of greasy

  I have dry skin, and this works perfectly as a daily moisturizer. It even removes a step from my routine (before I would apply moisturizer then sunscreen, this is effectively both). It doesn't melt into my mouth.It does make my face shiny --there's no getting around it- but that doesn't bother me.My mother hates the gunky texture of the SPF 15, and she uses the SPF 50 "fluide extreme" which is a drier formula, over a moisturizer. She warns that you have to let your moisturizer fully absorb before applying the sunscreen or else it all pills up and rubs off your face like eraser sweepings. 5/5 Z.   I love it

  I have stage 3B Melanoma, the most deadly of skin cancers. I started using this sunscreen shortly after diagnosis. It is wonderful. I am a golfer and camper and am still out in the sun a lot. I have never gotten any sunburn since I started using this. My biggest complaint about sunscreen was that it made my skin greasy. This does not and at SPF 15, it completely protects me.   Excellent for Winter time

  UVA rays are contant throughout the year, UVB rays are based on actual intensity of sunlight. This is the best UVA sun protection on the market because of the combination of Memorex AND Avobenzone. To increase the UVB (SPF from 15 to 50) you would need to add either Titanium Dioxide, Zinc Oxide, or Oxybenzone for UVB protection.In America, I believe the FDA has not approved the combined use of Avobenzone with Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide together in the same sunscreen. I don't see why Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, and Memorex SR can't be combined, perhaps too many chemicals in one lotion imposes unforesen harm. This is why in order to raise the SPF and keep the sunscreen safe by FDA standards, it's either Avobenzone or sacrificing a little UVA to up the UVB.During winter, the UVB threat is lower than summertime, but the UVA threat is merely unchanged, so use this in winter.   Not proven effective against UV-A

  This version of "Anthelios" does not contain mexoryl, which is the most effective UV-A blocking agent. Don't buy this version of "Anthelios;" instead, look at the other Anthelios products that DO contain mexoryl. If you want a non-mexoryl sunscreen (which I don't recommend, since they are less effective against UV-A), then go with the Neutrogena productd that contain "helioplex," The lower SPF "dry touch" versions are reasonably effective, feel better on the skin than any other sunscreen I've tried, and are way cheaper than this product.Having said that, the mexoryl-based sunscreens are more effective than the Neutrogena, so are probably worth the extra cost. Bear in mind that UV-A causes cancer, but not sunburn. A sunscreen that protects against sunburn, is not an effective anti-cancer agent unless it also protects against UV-A. Most sunscreens that claim UV-A protection only provided it for half an hour or so.   Best sunscreen ever so sensitive skin

  I got this product because I have rosacea and very sensitive skin, everytime I try skin products my face gets really irritated speccially when I use sunscreen, but that is the one thing I never left home without, I live in Fl and is always really hot and sunny, to leave the house without sunscreen is a big mistake for my skin, but I never found a good sunscreen that would suit my needs.   this suncreen and fabrics do not mix

  This suncreen can stain your clothing yellow. I accidentally had some drip on to my jeans and another time on my shirt. Both times I wiped the suncreen off right away. When I washed my clothes there was a bright yellow stain from the suncreen which does not come out easily.   I actually have oily skin over most of my face with the exception of the eye area and around the mouth. I use this everywhere. Gives me a wonderful glowy, even skintone and light-but-penetrating moisture without being thick, heavy or greasy, Makeup goes on beautifully over this.   Thank goodness for Effaclar!

  I have sensitive, combination skin ... this has meant that even as I matured into adulthood, I'd still find myself struggling with complexion problems (you know, the occasional pimple all the way to full-blown breakouts). At 15, it's considered normal and a 'rite-of-passage', I suppose. But at 50, it's not so adorable AT ALL!!My dermatologist suggested trying Effaclar, and I have to say that I'm totally convinced this is the PERFECT cleanser!   Can't live without it!

  For years I struggled with zits--even into my mid-20's. My dermatologist prescribed me all sorts of things...but nothing ever seemed to do the trick. A few years ago I had my first facial, and the esthetician recommended this product. It was amazing how quickly my skin cleared up once I started using it. I have oily/shiny skin in the summer, and normal/dry skin in the winter. I can use this product year-round. It doesn't dry my skin, but it also helps manage my oily skin.   I have dealt with severe acne for years. My dermatologist suggested effaclar and it is above and beyond the best product I've ever purchased. It has made such a noticeable difference for me.   Finally Something that Works :)

  Purchased this and been using for a week already, this works great and my acne mild acne has slowly went away. I also use the facal gel cleaner by la roche so i will keep using both products. I put on at night and in the morning and works great for a base for my makeup. Non-stick and feels clean so i recommend this product to all that suffer from mild to bad acne.   Irritating Eye Cream

  Really like La Roche Posay products; however, this product is apparently an exception. Although advertised for sensitive eyes, product caused extreme puffiness and irritation around the eye area. Another added 'feature' was the large yellow rings that would form around my eyes mid-way through the day. Could have been an allergic reaction or bad product; nonetheless, please be aware that this product may not be as sensitive for the eye area as advertised. I will say that the tube it comes in is very convenient and dispenses just the right amount of product in a sanitary way. Wish it would have worked out... 1/5 N.   Retains skin's moisture

  I ordered this thermal spring water after reading that it is recommended for dry skin to first spray the skin with water and then apply moisturizer. The mositurizer traps the water on the face and helps to keep the skin moisturized. It works great. My skin still feels moisturized hours after I put on the moisturizer. I used a more expensive hydrating mist before. It was a lot more expensive and irritated by eyes. Its 2 years later and have not had an issue since. I don't let any other product come to my face after discovering this. Wonderful for the sensitive skin types.   One of the best lotions.

  I have had severe acne off and on for 20 years and have tried numerous types of creams, lotions, moisturizers for my skin which is very sensitive and combination type of oily and dry. This is the one product that keeps my face feeling soft and does not cause break outs. It is expensive for me but is well worth it.   Nice lotion

  I bought this lotion because I was having problems getting my normal lotion from Lancome. My esthetician recommended this brand to me so I thought I would try it out. I really do like this lotion. It is very smooth and is not oily at all. It spreads easily and does not have a strong smell, in fact the slight scent isn't even noticeable and I am very sensitive to smells. Now I am not going to lie I still prefer my normal lotion from Lancome but this is a very close 2nd to that. My skin stays hydrated all day which is a huge plus. I use this lotion in the morning and at night since I use some acne products I want to insure that my skin stays hydrated.   Best I've ever used

  I've had skin problems for years - both adult acne and cutaneous lupus. La Roche-Posay's Effaclar line is both gentle and effective. It has not cured my lupus, but it has reduced the roughness and blotchiness, and made my skin smoother and more elastic - just generally healthier feeling. I use the Deep Cleansing Foaming Cream, the Effaclar Toner, the Effaclar K Acne Treatment Fluid (a great exfoliator) and La Roche-Posay's Anthelios Moisturizer. All are fabulous products. 5/5 S.   Really nice cleanser

  If you're familiar with Leslie Baumann's book _The Skin Type Solution_, this is one of the face washes she recommends for oily skin. Since I also have sensitive skin (my skin type is OPWS), I was worried that it would be too drying for me, but I really do like this! The foaming action is definitely more subtle than other foaming cleansers I've used, but it suds up nicely and has a light, pleasant scent that is non-irritating.Since it contains salicylic acid, it's designed for oily and acne-prone skin. I don't have acne (just the occasional pimple), but do have that classic oily T-zone, and this seems to help reduce the shine.What I also like about this is that it is excellent at removing makeup; when I wipe a cotton pad with toner over my face after cleansing with this, no makeup residue is left on the cotton pad.Since I am worried about this being too drying, especially as winter approaches, I will probably save this for nighttime use since it... 5/5 Leanne (San Diego, CA) - See all my reviews, September 23, 2010

  Will Last Forever

  This may seem pricey for a face wash, but the tube will last forever if you use it properly. You only need the tiniest amount to lather up your whole face. I have only been using the product for about a week, but already my face feels smoother, less oily and the tone seems to be improving.
