South Carolina UFO Sightings may be hoax

  • The reports stated the enormous boom accompanied by a shaking and a blue light that lighted up a large swathe of the region at 2 in the morning. Many woke up when they felt the tremors, heard the boom or saw the dark vicinity light up with the strange blue lights. Residents saw a bluish light streaking in the night sky at about 2 in the morning and then saw it crash with an enormous explosion near Greenville, South Carolina. That one had appeared with flashing blue and red lights, a sight more spectacular than this one and more mysterious. Cindie Stubbs of Fountain Inn, was reported to have exclaimed, “I saw this big, bright light that made the sand almost sparkle.

Hot Option Plays: Blue Light Special

by OptionsXpress

Where is the next Blue Light Special? (Check out AEO in Bullish Flow.) The Consumer Discretionary sector, XLY +1.61%, is outperforming the general market, S&Ps +1.05%, and Retail is red hot today after Junes sales data came out. Along with the Claims data coming better than expected and now getting in to a more palatable level of 410K, that sideline money that I discussed last week is scrambling to get into this market. While this is a catalyst, this is spec capital that can get out as fast as it gets into the market, so I take that with a grain of salt. Also the retail side has shifted sentiment, Put/Call ratio well below 1, and the market is in a resistance zone that at this stage has held, 1350 in the S&Ps. I will be watching the close to see if we do not see some trimming of profits in front of the Employment data tomorrow. More in the After Hours.

Stocks are rallying around jobs data and monthly same store sales results. Before the opening bell on Wall Street, ADP reported that the US economy added 157,000 private sector jobs last month, which was much better than the 60,000 that was expected. Separately, the Labor Department said that jobless claims declined 14,000 to 418,000 last week. Economists were expecting a decline of only 7,000. The better-than-expected jobs data holds more sway than usual because it comes ahead of key monthly jobs data from the Labor Department tomorrow morning. At the same time, retailers are in focus after individual companies released June sales numbers. Gap Stores are rallying after their results topped expectations with help from lower gasoline prices, warmer weather, and discounts. Overall, investors seemed pleased with the day’s news flow so far and, through midday, the Dow has now added 91 points. The tech-heavy NASDAQ gained 37.5. CBOE Volatility Index (.VIX) lost .53 to 15.81. Options volume is running at the highest levels so far this week, with 4.9 million calls and 4.2 million puts traded through 12:15pm ET.

Blue light?

Why do I have this small blue light on a toggle swicth in my Chevy? What's the point of it?? It's the light that's on the dash board on the drivers side. I'm guessing it's for some secerty thing. But the only thing that I have found this light to do is flash! Nothing else. It's really

it's some cind of alien device i think

What is the flashing blue security light do at intersections?

I was driving home today and I noticed that a post was planted in the ground to the side of a four-way intersection. At the top of the post appeared what looked like a camera or something. I could tell that from a distance it flashed a blue light once or twice. I noticed that they still have the cameras

If you noticed a flash as you rolled through the intersection, watch your mail for the ticket. As the light turns yellow to red any cars entering the intersection will have their picture taken and a ticket mailed to them.

Those are police cameras. I saw them for the first time looking for the police station to pay, an impound ticket. ( I was parked in a no parking near a club. OOPS!)!

About this book
The Blue Light Life was acceptable for Thomas Louis Rodgers. He was content as a recognized archeological professor in an out-of-the-mainstream but well-respected upstate New York university. Only rarely now did he become morose at the loss of his wife. Then he receives a package. Its contents leads to a journey of discovery and dangers, of emotions and entanglements. Thomas Rodgers aspires to be just like his late, successful father. Is he ready for this extreme challenge? Rodgers assembles an unlikely team of archeological investigators — a dentist, a university assistant, a Japanese exchange scholar and an independent consultant/scientist. Along with his girlfriend, they embark on a hunt that begins in the familiar pastoral serenity of Monroe, New York, and extends to the mother lode of religions, Jerusalem. The acceptable life of Thomas Rodgers is about to unravel. As the team uncovers pieces of the deepening mystery, they are also exposed to clues that brings them to question their...

    Let it beLITE :)

The manual that comes with the goLITE states that it could help alleviate the so-called winter blues depressions, help with jet lag and allow shift workers better adjust to their unusual schedules. The theory claims that exposure to bright blue light tricks our body into producing producing certain hormones that make us feel more alert and energetic and inhibits the production of hormones that make us sleepy. Some people who feel depressed and exhausted in winter time because there's not much bright light may respond favorably to light therapy. goLITE is a light therapy device. The light: ---------- It's really, really bright. For those familiar with LED flashlights, think of it this way: a decent LED flashlight device has about 3 LEDs. The goLITE has SIXTY. Therefore, think of TWENTY flashlights bright, when used at maximum intensity. That IS bright. It's so bright, you are not supposed to stare at it directly. I did and my eyes hurt for about half an hour... 5/5 A. Dent "Aragorn" (Minas Anor, GD) - See all my reviews, March 2, 2009

Most of these reviews come from people in the Vine program or the reviews were being released rapidly over a short time period and that had me very doubtful. Amazingly small but a very powerful light

Customer Video Review Length:: 2:25 Mins Many people feel a little less energetic in the winter, while others get the winter blues. It has been shown that the decrease in natural sunlight may be the culprit in this seasonal change on our bodies. In fact, it has a name - Seasonal Affected Disorder (SAD). The Philips goLITE BLU light is designed to help sufferers of SAD by mimicking the effect that the sun has on your body. A few pointers - tips about the light (Many were not included in my video)-- It uses all LEDs therefore it is very unlikely that any of the "bulbs" will burn out. - LEDs generate much less heat than other forms of light, so there is a very low risk of fire. - You must (on occasion) look into periphery of the light. The effect of the light works through your EYES and not your skin, therefore you must glance directly into the light (about once a minute for me). - The unit MUST be charged for 8 eight hour prior to the initial use... 5/5 Charles Evans "Call me Kevin" (North Carolina) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2008

AWESOME LIGHT, if you have a medical need.

Let me preface by first saying, I have been using light therapy for years and years. In fact, I'm 24 and I have been using light as a therapy device since I was ten. As you can imagine, I've tried many different theraputic (and non-theraputic) lights and done much research on the topic since being diagnosed (before the diagnosis was 'en vogue') with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). When I heard about the Philips GoLite Blu, I was enamored, I have had my eye on it for 2-3 years now, and finally got one this winter. As I have been going through the reviews on this product the thing I've been noticing, which is perhaps a problem with Philips marketting plan, is that the people who are giving poor reviews do not seem to have had a medical need for the product in the first place. It seems like maybe this products is being marketted as sort of a -- caffiene replacement therapy, when in reality, it is probably not effective for people who have normal chemical balances in... 5/5 T-Rappa - See all my reviews This review is from: Philips Hf3321/60 Golite, White / Blue (Health and Beauty) Let me preface by first saying, I have been using light therapy for years and years. Bright Blue Light Fights the Winter Blues

Like most people, I am familiar with the "winter blues." Some days, the gray skies and cold weather are just too overwhelming. I have read various theories about what causes Seasonal Affective Disorder, including a lack of Vitamin D (which I think has some merit) and a lack of sunlight. According to the sunlight theory, sunlight causes the brain to produce serotonin, so going long periods without sunlight hitting the eyes can cause depression. One way to get more sunlight is to get out in the sun more, but this is difficult for many people in the winter. Another method that I often use is to go to a window, close my eyes, and look in the direction of the sun for a few minutes. However, during some winter months, sunny days can be rare, making this method somewhat unreliable. This is where this unit comes in. According to the Mayo Clinic, blue light therapy mimics outdoor light, and is beneficial in fighting Seasonal Affective Disorder. I have used this unit... 5/5 David Bennett (United States) - See all my reviews, November 25, 2010

Don't use if you've had cataract surgery

I did not realize when I ordered this item that you cannot use it if you've had eye surgery, specifically if you've had cataract surgery. Fortunately the instructions do indicate that you shouldn't use the product if you've had cataract surgery, however I would have liked to have seen that information made more prominent, perhaps on the box as a warning. It would have been quite easy to miss that information, as this seems like a product for which instructions are superflous. 3/5 S. Like being underwater

We picked 4 of these up at Lowes. I put them in my overhead light fixture and it creates a great effect. It is soothing and calming. A bit like being underwater. I bought this because of other people's reviews

I have gotten down in the dumps around November every year. This year it got bad enough that I finally decided to buy a light box. What can I say, it works! I use it in the morning for 30 minutes while I check emails. If I have time I use it in the evening when I get home from work for another 30 minutes. The only cons I can think of is that the ionizer thing smells bad. Sort of a strong plastic smell. I have been using the light box for around a month. I feel very good. I am not down in the dumps at all. I highly recommend this if you have seasonal effective disorder like I do. I would have bought this years ago had I known it would actually work. 5/5 Sara Lane "Sara Lane" (Evanston, Illinois) - See all my reviews This review is from: NatureBright SunTouch Plus Light and Ion Therapy Lamp (Health and Beauty) I have gotten down in the dumps around November every year. Helped me with my winter blues

I moved from Virginia to Iowa in '06 and experienced SAD during my first winter here. It wasn't something that I recognized right away and by the time spring came, I was 30lbs heavier and suffering from moderate depression. After some extra warm weather exercise and a resolution to not let it happen to me again this year, I did some research on sunlight therapy and settled on this affordable NatureBright product. I felt the difference within 2 days of using it! My mood brightened and I started to get my initiative back. Even though it is still cold and grey outside, I now go for walks, out to eat, on day trips and have started picking up forgotten projects around the house. Per the instructions included with the lamp, I sit in front of it for 30 minutes in the morning and then sometimes another 30 minutes in the early afternoon. Worth buying - worked for me

I looked at a few different sun lamps on Amazon and ended up with this one because the price was discounted. The company's website did not have as many detailed specs as I wanted to see before buying the product, so I called customer service. To receive 10,000 lux, you have to sit at least as close as 15 inches. The manual says with the ionizer on, you can sit as far as 20 inches (I'm not sure I believe that - I think it's just recommended for a "treatment session", not for the 10,000 lux). Also, the lights should be good for about 3 years (there are 4 in the lamp), and it's currently $60 to replace all 4. As for the ionizer, I wasn't looking for anything like this feature, and I was skeptical about it at first. However, I have since learned that it is a great plus to the light itself; it's like having fresh air blowing at you. With the ionizer and the lamp on, I almost feel like I'm sitting outside on a sunny day. For the most part, I really like the Philips Wake-up Light. The modern design is great. The lighting itself is beautiful. The product features are adequate. The orange LED display offers four levels of brightness. The control buttons blend in nicely with the trim. The snooze button, appropriately, sticks out like a sore thumb so if I'm still drowsy I can just reach over and activate it without lifting my head all the way up off the pillow to find it. The elegant halogen illumination is the heart of what this product is all about. You can use the Wake-up Light as a bedside lamp and adjust it to any of several intensities. Powering down, it smoothly transitions to darkness. Awesome! The radio sounds nice, comparable to your standard clock radio. Unfortunately, it's FM only, and I'm one who likes to make the most out of my space. With no AM band to choose from it loses a bit of value for me. As a wake-up light, this product is fantastic! Wake Up Like Cinderella!

Customer Video Review Length:: 2:05 Mins***6 Month Update*** Had a lot of questions about burning out lights and whether or not I still enjoyed the alarm clock, so I just thought that I'd offer a quick update to my review. At nearly 6 months, I still use the alarm clock every day and have yet to be dissatisfied and my original review still stands. The light bulb has so far not burnt out and that's even with me using it for hours at a time as a reading lamp (note that the bulb is replaceable should it ever burn out). The bird noises still sound natural and pleasing to me (I was afraid I'd eventually associate bird tweets with groggy mornings and want to kill anything with feathers) and, in fact, I still occasionally wake up and think: My goodness, some bird is going to town out there... before realizing it's only my alarm clock. As always, if there are any further questions, please leave them in the comments section and I'll do my best to answer them... 5/5 Tate - See all my reviews, September 28, 2010

Great for sun wakers, alarm could use more features.

I HATE getting up in the morning, and this thing has made it a little less painful, especially as we move into the winter months when it's still dark when I get up. I've always been able to wake easier when the sun is up, and that's the philosophy behind this wake up light. Set a wakeup time, and the light will gradually start brightening to the setting you've picked over a span of about 20 minutes. You can choose the light brightness you wake up to - brightness goes from 1 (very low) to 20 (ridiculously blindingly high). Mine is set at about 7, though it could be a couple notches lower (maybe when it's not dark out when you need to get up, you need a higher setting). This gently and effectively wakes me up. I usually wake up before the brightest part (which is why I need to adjust it), but can easily go back to sleep for a bit as it brightens up and then wake up with the final brightness at the alarm sound, and I feel much less horrid than I usually do when I get up to a... 4/5 jennahw (Maryland) - See all my reviews, October 13, 2010

    ForeverGlo is great!

I've owned this product for years and wanted to get more. Was so happy to find them at Amazon. We use them at home and also keep extras in our suitcases for traveling. The Forever Glo emits the perfect amount of bed-side light. Not so much that it will keep you awake, but perfect for getting out of bed in the dark and not stumbling around. 5/5 abubnic "Travel Buff" (SF Bay Area) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I love these!

First of all, if you are looking for a bright night light this one is not for you. I love these because I wanted something to put in my kids rooms that wouldn't keep them awake and would allow me to check on them without tripping over any toys. These are perfect! Any my three year old loves being able to choose between a green or blue light each night! As for durability, my 1 year old threw her nightlight into the toilet and after being cleaned and dried it still works! Great buy! 5/5 donna3475 - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) If you need something brighter; Turn the lights on.

I odered these and based on other reviews thought they would be rather dim. But in a dark room these clearly cast shadows across the room. I have the blue. So far they are just what i expected except a little brighter. I have only had them a week so I can not comment on how long they will last. But if they get a little dimmer then great! By the way the average LED last about 7-10 yrs so if they last that long then you got your moneys worth. 5/5 Allen "The MAN" (boston) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Hard to believe but it makes a difference

I'm 35 now and I've been using this light box faithful for about 3 weeks now. I've heard people say this was a spoof but my therapist say it'll take up to several weeks before the effects kick in. I religiously continued to use it and I can say that this really works. It doesn't bring major changes to your emotions or mood, but you can feel more awake during the day. It's as if you were long term in a picnic under the sunshine. I will be using this every winter now when my energy levels and mood deteriorate worst. I'm in the courier industry and you really gotta be awake when at work or you get into a mess with deliveries. I've recommended this to my night shift buddies. This lightphoria is pretty good for its price but there are higher end models with more features. But as recommended by my therapist, make sure you get a 10,000 lux sad light or you'll see no effect. 5/5 Fed - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great for body clock resets

I got this after reading the reviews and all I can say it really does work! I use it twice a day, once in the morning and once after lunch and it really helps tell my body to wake up. It sets my circadian rhythm back to normal despite being an air hostess. After every long haul flight, I still wake up at 8am in the morning latest, thanks to light therapy. Before, I don't feel tired even when it's past midnight but now it isn't a problem when my body naturally wakes up so early. I'm not sure about seasonal affective disorder but it's worth getting if you work in day/night shifts. Pros: - it works well for resetting my body clock - the light is very bright - doesn't have weird smells which is a common problem mentioned on some reviews for other products - it's small enough to carry for my trips - the adapter works on voltages for all countries Cons: - the timer only allows 15, 30 and 45... 5/5 JR "Flygirl" (New York, NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) the artificial 'wake up call' for your body

Saw this on an ad from a magazine and this is the best therapy lamp in its price range. Most of the other therapy lamps are very expensive and are out of my budget. Firstly, I do not suffer from SAD nor do I have sleeping problems. I just want to feel more energetic during the short daylight winter days. This is what everyone needs when living in the northern latitudes of the US. I've used the lightphoria for 3 weeks now and it has brought positive impact on my mood. 3 week isn't long enough to speak for its reliability but I can tell you how the device functions. The lightphoria is a solidly constructed piece and attractive to be placed anywhere at home. It doesn't have any fancy digital displays or flashy buttons. All it has are 7 basic functions which pretty much explains why it is half the price of the expensive models. I would much prefer to cut out the fancy i-phone-like buttons on home appliance like this to keep the price affordable. Operating is very self... 5/5 John Brown (Olympia, WA) - See all my reviews, February 14, 2011

Best thing I've done for myself

I don't usually leave reviews, but this device is the best thing that's happened to me in years. I didn't realize the extent of my SAD until I got the light therapy unit. I even bought one for my brother. Even he raves about it. It's convenient and does the job. I thought it was all hog wash until I tried it. 5/5 Tanya Jarrett "Mathilde" (Nashville, TN) - See all my reviews, January 26, 2011

    This blue light is bright!

This blue light is bright! I love the fact it has two settings. The only con is the mounting b/c it does not have any adjustment for the angle position. But I made this adjustment with my monitor positioning. I have used the light therapy glasses and hats before without feeling results. I will buy a second one with adapter to travel with in my truck soon. 5/5 MT. Hiker/Runner - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Syrcadian Blue light therapy

I have found light therapy to be very beneficial as I live in an area with limited natural light during part of the year. The Syrcadian Blue unit has proven to be not only affordable, but very convenient, mobile and effective. The unit is very easy to set-up, does not require extra space, and has provided the desired effects. 5/5 Doug - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) I was a skeptic, now I am a convert

I was highly skeptical of this product when I purchased it but I was so tired of having acne in my 30s despite trying everything (topical prescription creams, facials, dermatologist visits, expensive fancy creams) and spending LOTS of money in the process so I broke down and got this. I purchased this product and have used it for a week (4 times this week) on my problem areas and my acne is completely resolved. Sure, I have the spots left where blemishes used to be but the blemishes themselves are gone. I am so impressed that I joke with my friends that I am going to quit my job and go work for Quasar because I am such a believer. I have been trying to resolve my problem for years so to have it clear up in one week with a completely painless and noninvasive procedure is beyond words. 5/5 Juliana Smith (Houston, TX, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Baby Quasar Photorejuvenation Light Therapy, Blue (Misc.) Baby Blue helps control difficult adult acne

If you're like me, you've been scouring the internet for reviews on this product, wondering if you should take the plunge. There just isn't a ton of credible/informative feedback out there yet, which is why I'm submitting mine. I hope you find it helpful in your decision-making. I have been struggling with adult acne since my early twenties. I'm in my thirties now and was feeling hopeless until I got my Baby Blue. My acne is triggered by hormones, stress, hair and makeup products, and exposure to gluten. Because these factors are difficult if not impossible to avoid completely, my acne is moderate, persistent, and difficult to treat. Having found little relief from the typical OTC and Rx products, I started looking into alternative treatment methods. When I discovered the Baby Blue online, I was skeptical at first, mainly because of the price tag and the flourish of reviews that made it seem too good to be true. However, after confirming the efficacy of blue light therapy... 4/5 FelicieAnn - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Not perfect, but definitely improved

I have used the product for about a month now. I have noticed a definite improvement in 'difficult' areas. My forehead used to develop a lot of little bumps, and for the most part my forehead really smoothed out. The challenging area is the chin and although I've still had a couple of break-outs, I do feel they resolved faster (I gave those areas extra attention when the problem developed). The directions specify 16 min. for the face. The way I have 'partitioned' my face it takes me about 20 min to do it. IMPORTANT NOTE: I had tried in the beginning to ensure good light coverage so I was holding the blue light steady in each area for ~30 sec. The instructions direct you to move the blue light around in small circles. Since this action of circling is not explained, I disregarded it as not being important. About a week into the use of the light, my partner who happens to be very knowledgable about LEDs asked me about the unit. I told him that the directions said to move it in... 4/5 LuvCoconut - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
