Zit Prevention Plan Preventing zits...Steps to stop the eruptions Here are some tips on reducing and preventing zits. But remember, even if you practice good hygiene and have healthy eating habits, chances are you'll break out at some point. It's normal. 1. Wash Wash your skin morning and night with a gentle cleanser that cleans your pores without drying your skin (don't use grainy, harsh scrubs since these can actually cause acne). i recommend you use neutragena pink grape fruit oil free acne wash. 2. T-zone Some areas of your face, like your forehead, nose, and chin (often called the T-zone because it's shaped like the letter T) might be oilier than the rest of your face. So treat it differently: wash it with a non-oily cleanser. 3. Water Drink a lot of water. It helps flush away impurities. 4. Foods Although foods cannot cause zits, some people find that what they eat affects their skin. So say hello to healthy food, like fresh fruit and veggie snacks and see-you-later to chocolate and greasy foods like french fries and buttered popcorn. If you think you get zits after eating certain foods, keep a list and avoid eating too much of them or eating them at all. 5. Relax! Anxiety and stress can cause the adrenal glands to make more hormones, which can cause zits to suddenly pop up. You have a lot going on in your life, but try to take time out for a walk or yoga or whatever works for you. ********* PRODUCT FOR ACNE GOING AWAY FAST*********** also i recommend you buy a bottle of tea tree oil [it works trust me there was a big improvement in my acne the the first time i used it. you can buy it at CVS or Wal Mart or Walgreens. you put it on a cotton ball or cotton pad and put a thin layer of it on your face. How do I tell the difference between acne and razor bumps?

Sometimes I cut my hair very short with clippers in the lower back of my head, and it always gets red and some zits form in the area. Are these razor bumps or just pimples? I use an andis t-outliner clipper which cuts it almost bald.

This is gonna sound stupid, but try it. Zits are a skin condition from a combination of age, diet, skin care. sometimes stress, etc. Stop clipping for a while, about 10 to 14 days. Try not to change anything else. If you still have the problem, it's zits. (If you don't get them anywhere else, that's one strange set of zits!) I'm 46 and get zits. Only on the back of my head and above my ears where my helmet rubs all the time. (I ride a bike all the time. Don't own a car.) I pop them in the morning, jump in the shower and use an antibacterial soap, then put St. Ives on the spots. No pain, and you have to look close to see the spots. By the way, do you wear a hat all the time? Or possibly a helmet? In a hot, humid, climate? (I'm in Florida. That's probably why I get the skin trouble.) Don't let anyone kid you. I was in the service and saw some people that never shaved before. They had what the medics called "bumps". Well, when them suckers broke open, they spewed pus like a waterfall! Bumps are caused by an ingrown hair. Zits are just irritated or infected pores.

Razor bumps dont spew white mucus
philoseffie | Nov 04, 2006
It could be either or even a mix of both. If the bumps are small, rash-like and hard then it's most likely razor burn. If the bumps are varying sizes, 'poppable', and filled with white/yellow fluid, they're most likely zits. Try not cutting the area for a short while and see if the bumps return or not. If it turns out to be razor burn, use a good calming lotion with aloe vera to help heal the area. If it seems morel ikely that the bumps are zits, make sure you keep the scissors you're using clean, change your pillowcases often and use an anti-bacterial body or face wash on the area.

How can you get rid of a zit by the top of your lip?

I have a zit/ large pimple at the top of my lip line is there anyway to get rid of it in 1-2 days?

Ice: Application of ice on the affected area is the simplest form of treatment for the zits. It will have a soothing effect on the painful zits on lip. With regular application, the redness and the inflammation will go down in no time. Honey and Cinnamon: The anti bacterial properties of these two components are highly effective on the zits. Mix honey, cinnamon and some wheat germ to prepare a mask and apply it over the affected area. It should be applied at night and you should allow it to sit over the acne over night. Next morning wash it off with lukewarm water. Garlic: Garlic can be taken orally as well as applied topically. If you rub a raw garlic on a small zit on lip, it can prevent further aggravation. Oral intake of garlic helps in purification of the blood stream and thus, keep outbreak of zit at bay. Take three cloves of garlic once everyday for a month for this purpose. Mint Juice: This can heal up the acne when used regularly. Prepare a thick paste by mixing mint juice and turmeric. Then wash your face with a mild soap and water. Now, apply the paste on the affected area before retiring for the day. Next morning wash off with cold water. Keep the Area Clean: This is a challenging task because every time you eat something, food particles are likely to get stuck on it. Remove all the food particles from it by gently rubbing a wet tissue. Do not even apply pressure on the region around the lip as it can spread the bacteria to other pores.

Zits, sketchbook 1

Creator: Jerry Scott, Jim Borgman | 1998-09-01

Zits resonates with its fans because the strip contains so much truth and insight, wrapped in an uproarious context that's all too familiar to everyone who's been 15 or has parented a teenager.

Publisher: Andrews McMeel Pub

About this book
Fitting in. Being different. Growing up. Staying a kid: Zits is a comic strip about the funniest, most painfully emotionally charged, physically demanding, mentally challenging, and colorful times of our lives--adolescence. Those who are living it can relate. And those who have been through it cannot remember the time without smiling, or at least wincing at the arrogance and ignorance we all mistook as maturity during those few eternal years.Zits: Sketchbook #1 is an inside look at life from the point of view of Jeremy, a private 15-year-old who is desperately hacking his way out of childhood and into maturity. He labors in the shadow of Chad, his perfect older brother who is away at college. Jeremy is a freshman in high school whose main pastimes are hanging out with his best friend, Hector Garcia, forming a garage band, and being amazed at his parents' spectacular ignorance about almost everything. Impatient, self-absorbed, emotional, and bored silly, Jeremy is the essence of adolescence....

Humongous Zits, a Zits treasury

Creator: Jerry Scott, Jim Borgman | 2000-03-01

Follows Jeremy's adventures as he copes with parents, school, friends, and other aspects of teenage life.

Publisher: Andrews McMeel Publishing

About this book
Adolescence is a time of painful growth and unpredictable change, when kids come packaged in a jumble of baggy jeans, rolling eyeballs, and grunting communication. Cartoonists Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman have captured the humor of that challenging time with Zits, in which they chronicle the life and times of the typically exasperating yet ever lovable Jeremy Duncan. In this first Zits treasury, faithful fans of Jeremy's world will get a glimpse behind the scenes with never-before-seen sketches and the stories behind the strips. Sunday cartoons appear in full-color, highlighting the strip's acclaimed drawing style. Even though the teenage terrain is rocky, Zits is warm and sympathetic. "The highest compliment we hear from readers is, 'You must have a camera hidden in our house!'" says Borgman.

    Don't buy the Kindle version

I bought the Kindle version for my iPad. What a waste of money. By now publishers ought to know better than to publish a strip reprint with images of the strips that are too low resolution to even be readable. The images are barely large enough to read at the default size on my iPad, and they are so low res that zooming in just makes them less readable. If you love Zits like I do, buy the print version. 1/5 R. L. Clark - See all my reviews, November 1, 2011

    Funny!

Zits is one of my favorite comic strips. Now that I have a teenager of my own, I can relate to the strips so well: the messy bedroom, trying to get the teen up in the morning, thinking parents are prehistoric, etc. The cartoonists, Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman, bring out the humor of our daily lives. (In fact, many strips are based on things they experienced in their own families.) I was surprised to see some low ratings on this collection of Sunday funnies. Upon reading the reviews, I see the problem is not the content of the book, but how it comes across in the electronic version. Since I have an actual book, I had no problems whatsoever. I loved the colorful strips and the accompanying verbiage from the cartoonists of the strip, as well as comments from other cartoonists. Would definitely recommend. 5/5 ConnieP (Michigan) - See all my reviews, November 14, 2011

    Great new treasure!

This is a great new Zits collection! I really like the way the authors explain the ideas behind the strips and how they created the Zits characters. It sure has changed a lot since the first strips. The characters are more smooth and detailed, the first ones were more rough looking. However, the idea behind the Zits and its characters has stayed the same. 5/5 New reader (New York, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Sunday Brunch: The Best of Zits Sundays (Paperback) This is a great new Zits collection! Treasury without Sketchbooks?

Apparently they skipped the sketchbooks this time and went right to a treasury. This LOOKS like newer material. About time. Been waiting a long time for new stuff about the Zits gang. usually the Treasurys say "contains strips from X and Y". This one does not. Painting a Room Purple Nipple

YOU'RE MAKING THAT FACE AGAIN is the 13th "Zits" Sketchbook featuring the lovable Duncan clan: Dad Walter, Mom Connie, and their crazy teenage son Jeremy. The strips featured in the book ran in newspapers from July 2008-April 2009. "Zit" is more of a gag-a-day strip, but it does occasional feature a short running story or a weeklong themed strip. A few of the stories in the book include Jeremy and Becker dating, Walt fixing the Internet, Jeremy getting a math tutor, Jeremy and his mom painting his bedroom, and a week where Walt and Jeremy are left alone as Connie visits her sister. Some of the themed strips include the Field Guide for Encountering the Teenager in Its Natural Habitat, Field Guide for Encountering the Grownup in Its Natural Habitat, 101 Things You Should Do Before You're 16, and Usually Means. YOU'RE MAKING THAT FACE AGAIN is a good range of comics of what "Zits" does best. 4/5 tvtv3 "tvtv3" (Sorento, IL United States) - See all my reviews, October 14, 2010

    Laugh until your sides hurt!

Zits is my new favorite, since Fox Trot stopped making daily strips. The hilarity comes in all forms, from subtle adolescent references, to laugh out-loud silliness, all which bring back some memory from our own adolescence! Jeremy is your typical male teenager, who manages to occasionally bring home an essence of a lesson hidden within the humor, without being "preachy" about it. Each day brings some new humous event, and this book brings them all together in one portable package! However, from now on, I think I will opt for the larger "Treasury" books, as they contain more comics(usually from the previous two "Sketchbooks"), which seems to make more economical sense to me, plus the fact that your reading enjoyment is extended. It only took me couple of night of browsing to finish this little treasure. In my view, the more comics, the better, the bigger the book, all the better. 5/5 Mr. Dana "Dana_Franklin" (Cambridge, MA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) HILARIOUS

This cartoon book will make you laugh, laugh, laugh! It's so funny! the authors and illustrators do know how the teenagers and their parents interact, what problems there are and how funny situations there can be. This book starts with the difficulties of teenagers getting up... It's Saturday, no matter how much noise you make you can't get your teenage son to wake up. Then suddenly, he wakes up and is looking for food! And when the teenager is missing for 5 hours at a time you start wondering where he is, is he in trouble or brooding over something... and when you go to find out where he is, he has been taking a shower for the past 5 hours! Teenagers in love is another popular theme in this book. How they don't talk, just stare and how the other people react to their love around them. 5/5 A&D (New York, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: You're Making That Face Again: Zits Sketchbook No. 13 (Paperback) This cartoon book will make you laugh, laugh, laugh! Great Comic Strip

Humongous Zits is a compilation of the first two books of this comic strip. It starts out a little slow while the main characters are being introduced, but it soon catches its stride.Jeremy Duncan is a typical teenager just trying to live his life. His parents are on his back, he's got homework to avoid, his garage band isn't getting recording contracts, and he's awkward around the girl of his dreams. Needless to say, his life is anything but boring. The strip is written from Jeremy's point of view, which leads to some great sight gags as we see a situation through his eyes. The characters are slightly cartoonish but real enough for many years of great strips, and I look forward to enjoying it for years to come. 4/5 0, October 4, 2001

    Rip-off

I like Zit's, but it's scandalous that this and other Andrews McMeel books don't specify overlapping content. Sunday strips are colored. That aside, Crack of Noon contains nothing other than the contents of Thrashed and Pimp My Lunch. I wasn't happy to learn that I spent (not counting S&H) over $17 for what I could have had for $11. 4/5 Thomas G. Field, Jr. (Concord, NH) - See all my reviews, May 27, 2006

    3.5 Stars: A Bit of a Letdown

I have all the Zits' treasuries, and while I enjoyed this latest one, have to admit that it was the least entertaining of the bunch. Some of the jokes are retreads of previously done jokes from other books, and unlike previous collections there weren't any strips that segued together to form a storyline. I was also disappointed to see so many one panel strips, like Family Circus.Entertaining, but not as good as previous compilations. 3/5 N. Totally relevant to everyone

If you're a parent, this book is for you. This book is going to help you find out what your teenager is thinking, and how they think. If you're a teenager, this jokes in the strips strike so close to home it's impossible not to laugh. For example, having high school fantasy about girls, or guys, or teachers!I think every teenager and parents can relate to Zits. It's almost like a documentary, told in panels, to the point of déjà vu.I also love the art drawn by Jim Borgman as well.I've all series of Zits treasuries, and will buy if there are more in the future. This particular book contains comics from the two individual books, Thrashed and Pimp My Lunch.(Check out my Amazon profile for other books I've reviewed.) 5/5 Parka (Singapore) - See all my reviews, December 23, 2008

Interesting - but actually a collection of previous works

This is essentially a group of previous strips that focus on Connie, rather than an original compilation. It's a nice retrospective, but a waste of money for those who already have the other compilations. 3/5 Yihui - See all my reviews, July 7, 2008

    Zits always a great read

Jeremy's Mom should be up for sainthood. A lot of these comics remind me of my mom and brother. 5/5 I. Lewis - See all my reviews, April 21, 2008

A MUST for parents of teenage sons

As the mother of a 13-year-old who is in the process of "firing" his mother, I can strongly relate to many of the strips in this book. Sometimes the similarities, while funny, are so close to discussions that have happened in our house that it's a bit unsettling! This is NOT just for moms either - there's plenty of hilarious "you are not alone" strips for ALL parents of teenager sons. 5/5 Jean M. Barker - See all my reviews, March 28, 2008

    Laughter Abounds

I've read all the anthologies, and this one ranks as one of the top-two for the series. There are many enjoyable subplots and less individual strips that were missing from the last collection, and caused the previous anthology to be a cut below par. Enjoy! 5/5 N. Huge fun

Scott and Borgman bring us another brilliant collection of Zits. If you're not already a fan: it centers on Jeremy, a perfectly normal, irrational, insightful, clueless, hormone-addled, fifteen year old. He navigates the incomprehensible world of parents, girls, and the world in general, with the cheery self-centeredness you might expect. Somehow, Scott and Borgman take this improbable universal and bring it to life, as only the best of comic writers can. They use surreal shifts of mindscape to illustrate the teenager's baffled and baffling view of the world, but with a foundation of empathy for Jeremy that keeps the tone affectionate. And, as long as the world has teenage boys in it, they'll have an endless source new confusion to work with. - wiredweird 5/5 wiredweird "wiredweird" (Earth, or somewhere nearby) - See all my reviews, November 6, 2009

    doubling up

I have purchased all of the Zits books (expensive when shipped to Australia) and I have been disappointed that two of the books contain cartoons repeated from the other books. Be aware that this book contains cartoons from "don't roll your eyes at me" and "are we an us". It would be nice for Amazon to tell us this before we buy.I have a seventeen year old son and I think the "Zits" books have bought us closer together because they place contentious areas into the open in an atmosphere of great humour. 5/5 Peter Liston (SOUTHBANK, VIC Australia) - See all my reviews This review is from: Big Honkin' Zits: A Zits Treasury (Paperback) I have purchased all of the Zits books (expensive when shipped to Australia) and I have been disappointed that two of the books contain cartoons repeated from the other books. A second helping of a great comic strip

Jeremy returns in his second treasury, combining strips from the books "Don't Roll Your Eyes at Me, Young Man!" and "Are We an Us?" Not much has changed since the first treasury. He still wishes his parents would get off his back, he still doesn't understand women, and he still dreams of making it big in music. But whether he's trying to decide what to do about the upcoming Gingivitis concert, win back Sara from a sophomore, support a friend's mom who has cancer, or sneak over to his girlfriend's babysitting job, he's sure to find the humor in any situation.Unfortunately, I don't get the strip in my local paper, so I have to wait for these books to enjoy it. But I can certainly see why it has become such a popular strip. Everyone can appreciate the humor in the storylines, which poke fun at everyone equally. The visual gages are some of the best in the papers today and make for some of the best strips in the book as well. And it's easy to like these characters because they... 5/5 Mark Baker (Santa Clarita, CA United States) - See all my reviews, April 5, 2002

    Heehehhahahahahheeheeheehhe, yukyukyuk!

I evaluate funnies by the drawings, and, of course, is it funny or not? With that said, here we go.In some ways, I think this comic is influenced by Calvin and Hobbes, one of the most memorable and classic strips. This comic strip is drowned in sarcasm and irony. The drawings have a sort of sketchy quality about them, something that makes them loose and very cool-looking. They have shading and scribbly detail, but are still very clear and easy to understand. It has more than 4 characters, allowing the cartoonist to come up with many interesting character traits. Exploring these personalities is very fun to read. A boy and a girl never seen not hugging each other, a mom, a dad, a big brother, and a boy with a guitar are just some of the characters. I think this strip has about the right amount of characters. This book is my first encounter with the comic and it is very appealing. I won't tell you to buy it, because I'm not a salesperson. I'm merely telling you why I like it. 5/5 "barracudaman232" (St.Paul, MN, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Big Honkin' Zits: A Zits Treasury (Paperback) I evaluate funnies by the drawings, and, of course, is it funny or not?
