    doubling up

I have purchased all of the Zits books (expensive when shipped to Australia) and I have been disappointed that two of the books contain cartoons repeated from the other books. Be aware that this book contains cartoons from "don't roll your eyes at me" and "are we an us". It would be nice for Amazon to tell us this before we buy.I have a seventeen year old son and I think the "Zits" books have bought us closer together because they place contentious areas into the open in an atmosphere of great humour. 5/5 Peter Liston (SOUTHBANK, VIC Australia) - See all my reviews This review is from: Big Honkin' Zits: A Zits Treasury (Paperback) I have purchased all of the Zits books (expensive when shipped to Australia) and I have been disappointed that two of the books contain cartoons repeated from the other books. A second helping of a great comic strip

Jeremy returns in his second treasury, combining strips from the books "Don't Roll Your Eyes at Me, Young Man!" and "Are We an Us?" Not much has changed since the first treasury. He still wishes his parents would get off his back, he still doesn't understand women, and he still dreams of making it big in music. But whether he's trying to decide what to do about the upcoming Gingivitis concert, win back Sara from a sophomore, support a friend's mom who has cancer, or sneak over to his girlfriend's babysitting job, he's sure to find the humor in any situation.Unfortunately, I don't get the strip in my local paper, so I have to wait for these books to enjoy it. But I can certainly see why it has become such a popular strip. Everyone can appreciate the humor in the storylines, which poke fun at everyone equally. The visual gages are some of the best in the papers today and make for some of the best strips in the book as well. And it's easy to like these characters because they... 5/5 Mark Baker (Santa Clarita, CA United States) - See all my reviews, April 5, 2002

I evaluate funnies by the drawings, and, of course, is it funny or not? With that said, here we go.In some ways, I think this comic is influenced by Calvin and Hobbes, one of the most memorable and classic strips. This comic strip is drowned in sarcasm and irony. The drawings have a sort of sketchy quality about them, something that makes them loose and very cool-looking. They have shading and scribbly detail, but are still very clear and easy to understand. It has more than 4 characters, allowing the cartoonist to come up with many interesting character traits. Exploring these personalities is very fun to read. A boy and a girl never seen not hugging each other, a mom, a dad, a big brother, and a boy with a guitar are just some of the characters. I think this strip has about the right amount of characters. This book is my first encounter with the comic and it is very appealing. I won't tell you to buy it, because I'm not a salesperson. I'm merely telling you why I like it. 5/5 "barracudaman232" (St.Paul, MN, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Big Honkin' Zits: A Zits Treasury (Paperback) I evaluate funnies by the drawings, and, of course, is it funny or not? The return of Jeremy Duncan

He is your son, your brother, your neighbor's kid, and your kid's best friend. He is Jeremy Duncan, the sullen star of the hit comic strip "Zits." In the third treasury, "Zits Supersized," Jeremy continues with the typical troubles of a teen -- clueless parents, a longing for freedom, hijinks with pal Hector, and a commitment-phobic girlfriend.Living in the suburbs with his orthodontist dad Walt and child-shrink mom Connie, Jeremy longs for the wild, dangerous life of a rock star. Unfortunately, he's mired in a relatively quiet life. But even if he's not a rocker, Jeremy has plenty of excitement in his life -- he makes the mistake of sleeping nude on the roof, starts calling his dad "Walt," and gets a summer job digging koi ponds. If only he knew what a koi was.A new guy arrives at school -- Pierce, who lives up to his name by having several pounds of metal sticking through various body parts. Jeremy makes the mistake of having an all-night horror-movie... 4/5 E. A Solinas "ea_solinas" (MD USA) - See all my reviews, August 9, 2004

The Humorous Trials of Jeremy Continue

Zits is fast becoming a modern classic comic strip, and with good reason. It is consistently funny. The authors, Jerry Scott and Jim Borgman, use every humor tool available to them to get their point across. And, no matter whether it's exaggeration, sarcasm, understatement, or a hilarious sight gag, this book is sure to entertain. The collection starts with the "director's cut" of "Good Night Dude." The original strip appears later in the collection, but here we get a full spoof of the classic picture book. From there, we launch into the daily strip. This book contains strips from sketchbooks #5 and 6, "Unzipped" and "Busted." As an added bonus, the Sunday comics are in color. We get about a year and a half of strips all in one place. Not only do we get the latest on Jeremy and Sara's rocky relationship, but we get to see Jeremy and Hector start their own summer business for no fun and little profit. Pierce also joins the band this... 5/5 Mark Baker (Santa Clarita, CA United States) - See all my reviews, March 9, 2004

One of the better Zits collections

There are multiple problems with the Zits series, mainly pertaining to Jeremy's mother (I mentioned this in my review of Random Zits) but this edition gets it pretty well. However, both Big Honkin' Zits and Random Zits were better in terms of plot. Regardless, there are some funny strips here.It has always been blatantly obvious that the situations in the strip were inspired by real teenagers somewhere, and here it doesn't get any better. Sadly, this treasury probably has the highest number of undoubtedly real situations. Despite that, there is not a total absence of plot. Another reviewer said that the buddies come into their own more this time. This is very true- Hector has some pretty awesome comebacks here (yes, even better than his ones during the Amber incident in the last book) and Pierce is introduced. Pierce would be better developed later, but I like to think of this book as the Last Stand of Tim, the one where quiet Tim Olsen left the scene in favor of... 4/5 0, March 5, 2006

Favourite baby toy of both my kids

The Whoozit was given to my daughter as a gift and frankly before I had it, I'd have looked at the price and bought a cheaper toy. However it was on her favourite toys as a baby. In fact she played with it until she was 1 1/2 years old, which is a very long time for a baby toy. Now it's my son's favourite. He only has the use of one hand, but it's light enough that he can play with it. It has 7 striped legs with different shapes and textures, a plush red nose that squeaks with a mirror underneath and a terry cloth semi-circle mouth that you can hold onto. The back has a black and white bull's eye pattern which was fascinating to both children when they were under 2 months old. 5/5 Thida Cornes (Mountain View, CA USA) - See all my reviews, April 19, 2005

    A Must Have

My daughter loves this toy. I had initially purchased the Baby Whoozit as a fun portable toy, and she loved it so much I bought her the big one for home. She loves to laugh at the face, and play with the rattles and squeakers. The hanging toys are also great teethers, and she enjoys chewing on them. 5/5 KarJ122 "karj122" (Poughkeepsie, NY USA) - See all my reviews = Durability:, June 4, 2004

Doesn't look like much but it is......

When we first picked it up at a second hand place, a few moms in the area said that this toy was THE toy to have. I've never been the type to buy THE toy to have but now after taking the chance and buying it, I now understand what that means. It means when leaving the house it's the only toy I need to remember to grab!We got it when my baby was 3 months old and she absolutely stays entertained with it. One thing about any toy is just because a child doesn't show interest in a toy that moment, doesn't mean in a month they won't show interest so always let some time go by and just see if their interest changes before giving it away. The pink rings encouraged my baby to put her fingers through them and manipulate them. The green triangle she just loves gumming it because it's ridged. She just now at 5 months is attracted to the top yellow and red items that rattle and she shakes them. She likes the pink mouth and grabs it in a carry hold, helping her with... 5/5 Sherra - See all my reviews = Durability:, July 8, 2005

The "cake" isn't the only thing that's a lie.

I really only have one thing to say about this figure. The title and the description (several places in the description actually) label this as a six inch action figure. I tend to try to buy all of my figures in that same 1:12 scale so that no matter the series they look good on shelves or photographed/filmed together. The actual figure that you receive is not 6" but 3 3/4" (think tiny G.I. Joe or Star Wars sized). How it could be mislabled that badly by mistake? I do not know. 1/5 Rufus A.
