If you talk to any dermatologist worth his or her salt, they'll tell you there's no point in washing with a benzoyl peroxide cleanser, because when you rinse it off, you rinse off the expensive medicine too! Proactiv is the only product that has ever cleared my skin, and I think the lotion is the most important component of the "system". (I only use the cleanser and lotion.) It's gentle enough to use all over your face on a daily basis without being overly drying. I bought the Proactiv Repairing Lotion to replace another product I'd been using for a long time with poor results. The Proactiv lotion blew me away! It works better than I could have expected. A couple of things to note about it: 1. You might not need to use it every day. I put it on my forehead every night, but I use it more like an on the spot treatment for the rest of my face. I found that if I used it like a mask every night, within three days my skin was dried out and flaking off. I've had excellent results using it as described above. 2. The lotion has a bleaching effect on fabric. When you're done applying it, wash your hands with soap. Do not just wipe your hands off on a towel or it'll take the color out of it. Also, be mindful of the pillow case you use if you put it on at night. Once the Proactiv dries it's pretty stable, but I still wouldn't rest my head on a prized pillow case while using it. 5/5 S. My skin is acne prone and I have tried many things in the past to make it clear up, but nothing has worked. At first Proactiv was a little irritating and drying for me. Word of advice, don't get it near your eyes because the cleanser does sting. The 3 step worked right away for me, within a couple weeks my skin started getting clear and brighter. Occasionally I have minor breakouts, but nothing compared to before starting this kit. It's been a year now and I've never used any of the other products in the line, except this 3 piece kit and another moisturizer. The kit alone dries out my skin, so I use a separate moisturizer and SPF. The price is a little high for this kit, but here on Amazon I compared to the Proactiv site and another site who also sell these products and this price here is most competitive. I like being able to purchase what I need instead of an entire kit at one time. A friend recommended Proactiv to me. Very very good product when it comes to eliminating pimples, blemishes and blackheads. It works very well. When I was younger I used more intense medications (prescription mostly) and they would make my skin beat red and turn it so dry and flaky that it wasn't even worth it in the end. Proactive has never had this type of effect on me and I consider myself to have very sensitive skin. Since I have such sensitive skin, my skin tends to have a bit of redness in general, but I also take Inositol powder which makes it appear more 'pink' and bright than anything else. Proactiv makes my skin very smooth and even toned and I NEVER have a breakout while using Proactiv along with the inositol.If you have sensitive skin, I also highly recommend Inositol powder, . Proaciv is a highly effective acne treatment brand but, here's the catch - you have to keep at it. Firstly, it takes a few weeks before you see significant results. This is the case for any acne treatment product really - you just HAVE to be consistent and give it time. This is really a GREAT price for the giant sized proactiv. I've seen it on QVC for about 5 dollars less (the giant sized) so you may want to check there as well.Don't bother with the smaller sizes unless you need to buy them for air-travel; these are too big and might be thrown out if you try to take them on a carry-on-- you don't want that!Just invest in these larger sizes and I think you'll be very happy. The cleanser and the repairing lotion always goes first for me, I don't use the toner as much. But It's still cheaper for me to buy the kit then bother with the smaller individual sizes.Proactiv works for me. It doesn't work overnight, but it really works. My teenaged son has had a bad case of acne for more than a year now. We've tried a variety of different medicines, one of which actually made his acne worse!It seems like nothing we tried worked, so after hearing several friends recommend Proactiv, we decided to take the plunge and buy a 2-month supply, even though it's a little expensive. After using it for several weeks now, we've seen a very slight improvement in our son's acne, but nothing major.We finally got fed up with all of the over the counter stuff and decided to visit our pediatrician. He told us that our son had 3-4 level acne on the Pillsbury scale which classifies the severity of acne from 1 to 4. Our doctor said that what's in Proactiv isn't really that much different than what's in most of the other over the counter products. i just received my package today and I was disappointed to say the least. I paid for a 60 day supply (which is what size the product is said to be) and i received a 30 day supply. Also, the toner (which is always the thing that runs out first) was leaking in the package, and was already a quarter empty. I paid for a 60 day supply (which is what size the product is said to be) and i received a 30 day supply. Proactiv is GREAT, but this configuration will leave you very disappointed. The sizes are small for the price and you might as well buy the "Mega" Supersized bottles instead for an additional $10. There is no way that the sizes in this configuration would last for 60 days of use.
